Week 3: Cinci, Arkansas, and more...

Well, we're currently at .500 on the year.  5 wins and 5 losses.  But I love some of these games this weekend, so lets see what we can do.

1. Toledo @ Cincinnati (-10)
Friday 6pm CT  |  ESPNU  |  Cincinnati, OH

Amazingly, this is week 3 of the season, and Cinci hasn't played a game yet.  I'm sure Toledo wishes the same thing after losing 3 starters to injury last week against Missouri, including all-star QB Phillip Ely, who had 4 TDs and no picks along with a ton of yards in the first game of the year.  Toledo is starting a brand new QB along with a new cornerback in their first true road test of the year.  Not a good way to kick it off.  Tuberville's Bearcats should roll.

2. Arkansas (+1.5) @ Texas Tech
Saturday 2:30pm CT  |  ABC  |  Lubbock, TX

Texas Tech gave up almost 250 rushing yards to UTEP last week, and almost lost the game.  They're 2-0, but it looks like smoke & mirrors because they've squeaked by both of their wins against Central Arkansas and the Miners.  Arkansas looks like they've got things somewhat figured out, especially running the football.  Look for them to go over 300 yards rushing against the Red Raiders and win this game by at least a touchdown.

3. Illinois @ Washington (-13)
Saturday 3pm CT  |  FOX  |  Seattle, WA

Washington has looked mediocre in their first two games, at Hawaii and against FCS Powerhouse Eastern Washington, but they've shown they can put up points, and that's something Illinois cannot do.  We're betting this game more because we think Illinois has one of the worst coaches in the country, and Washington should be able to score at will on them.  Look for a 3 or 4 touchdown victory for the Huskies.

4. Tulsa (+1) @ Florida Atlantic
Saturday 6pm CT  |  FCSA  |  Boca Raton, FL

Tulsa got blased by Oklahoma last week, but there's a lot of teams that will do that.  They went on the road and won at a much-improved Tulane team in the first week of the season, and Florida Atlantic hasn't shown anything in being outscored 96-7 at Nebraska and Alabama in the first two weeks of the season.  Look for a close game, but Tulsa looks like the better team here.

5. Northern Illinois (-10) @ UNLV
Saturday 6pm CT  |  MWC Video Online  |  Las Vegas, NV

Northern Illinois is a freaking beast.  They blew out Presbyterian 55-3 in the first game of the year, and held on to win at Northwestern last week 23-15 after being up 23-7 with just over 2 minutes left in the game.  NIU has a good team again, and their boys have already been on the road.  UNLV can't score.  They' got blasted at Arizona 58-13 in the opening game, and then won at home over Northern Colorado 13-12 last week.  They can't put up points, and NIU can rack up yards AND points.  Look for Northern Illinois and their awesome rushing attack to win this by at least 3 TDs.
